Bat Path Killer #1: Dropping Back Shoulder (Loosing Posture)
Welcome back to Day 2! Today, we'll talk about the first big Bat Path killer: Dropping your shoulder (Loosing Posture)
The Problem:
- Problem:
- Changing your posture by dropping your back shoulder
- What it Means:
- Your plane tilts rearward and doesn’t match the path of the ball creating an uppercut swing.
- How it Shows Up:
- topspun balls
- you swing and miss under the ball
- abundance of Popups
Solution: Rotate Holding Posture
- What to Do:
- you might need a posture change and rotation drills to fix.
- Why it Helps: Rotating around your center creates a plane that can go through the baseball in the direction that the ball is coming.
- Example Drill:
- 90 degrees-Standing-Shoulder Swings- PVC pipe.
What to Expect Next
The most effective swings are typically the most efficient - staying short to the ball while letting natural rotational mechanics create the desired plane.
